On the event of World Water Day, which is today Saturday March 22nd 2008, we call upon the international community to support the Palestinians in getting their right in their water resources and to put more pressure on Israel to respect, protect and fulfill the right to water and sanitation for Palestinians and their water resources.
The human right to water and sanitation is protected under international law. Yet in the occupied Palestinian territories, this right is being violated by the Israeli occupation on daily basis reflected directly in their policies, actions and omissions.

Statement and Pledge of Action
This May, Israel will mark 60 years of statehood. In cities across the U.S. and Canada, major Jewish organizations will sponsor celebrations of "Israeli Independence Day." Meanwhile, Palestinians around the world will mourn 60 years since the Nakba - Arabic for "catastrophe" - of 1948. Sixty years ago, Zionist militias destroyed over 500 Palestinian villages and made more than 800,000 Palestinian people refugees in order to create a Jewish state in a land where the majority was not Jewish. This does not deserve to be celebrated.
